Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers Earn First Wins After Player Detentions
Miami recorded eighty-six opening half scores versus the Grizzlies
Miami Heat earned a decisive 146 to 114 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first NBA match after guard Terry Rozier was detained over alleged unlawful gambling.

League Commissioner Silver 'Upset' over Arrests
Addressing the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Silver said he was "very upset" by the events of the past few days.
"Nothing is more critical to the league and supporters than the integrity of the competition," he told a broadcaster. "And so I felt uneasy. It was disturbing."
The commissioner also mentioned an NBA investigation into the player's actions in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a game he played for the Charlotte Hornets against the Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.
"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he added.
"We investigated the matter and were very transparent regarding it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, honestly, couldn't find anything.
"The federal government has legal authority... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the NBA is unable to.
"Therefore, we've been working with them from that point. And, of course, what they revealed recently was an indictment.
"Moreover 30 months after, he still hasn't been convicted of any offense, in justice to Terry.
"Clearly, it doesn't look good, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise here between protecting people's rights and investigating."
