The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a establishment in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an agonising wait for official news and appealing for information about their loved ones publicly.

The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated video depict the roof structure catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have warned that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of 40 people and wounded another over a hundred. Officials said on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with the process still underway to identify the remaining few.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the bar.
