The football icon received a honorary title at the historic royal residence on the weekday. The former England captain, fifty, was among those accepting honours for his contributions to athletics and philanthropy. In recent months, he stated he was “extremely honored” of being recognised in the monarch's annual honors list.

Football Career Highlights

Beckham first appeared in England's top division for Manchester United in the mid-nineties and was a key member that secured a thrilling Champions League final victory in the late nineties when they beat Bayern Munich with last-minute strikes.

Overall, he scored eighty-five scores and garnered accolades including multiple English championships and domestic cup wins as a footballer, before ending his playing career in the past decade. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has backed a number of charity causes, including acting as a charitable representative for global aid group the United Nations Children's Fund since 2005.

Charitable and Other Roles

In the previous year, the sports star, who has described himself as a “devoted monarchist”, was named an ambassador for the royal educational charity, an educational charity established by the monarch in the early nineties. In the late nineties he was named most stylish man of the year by GQ magazine and he has posed for companies such as the fashion retailer, the Italian designer, and Boss.

David tied the knot with Victoria in 1999 and the pair have four children together – their eldest, the second son, Cruz, and their daughter.
